Susanna is married to Gary Golio, author of picture books on Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. Their daughter Laurel Golio is a photographer and co-founder of the LGBT project We Are the Youth.
